Stripped…
ByOkay, I’ve got a few more updates.
Doesn’t it always start like this? Some poor Shuttle being defaced… literally.
All of the old face panels need to be removed. A steady hand and a little patience, gets them off with little effort. All panels are attached with a thin strip of adhesive.
Here we have the panels completely stripped.
I just couldn’t resist a test fit. This also gives me some idea of the material I will have to remove to fit the LCD.
I used part of the original LCD bezel to make the brackets for mounting the display. A little time with the tinsnips and the dremel, and they were finished.
The brackets mounted to the LCD perfectly.
